The consumerwanted Panel – Cookie Policy

National Field Services uses technology such as ‘cookies’ to improve our research offering.  

Cookies are automatically added to your computer when you join our panel. Panel members are likely to receive more survey opportunities.

National Field Services uses 2 types of cookies.

A standard type of “cookie” which holds a panellists, unique identification number, the username, and login status in a which you cannot opt out of and is only used for authentication (i.e determines if you have logged in). This is used in the event you have ticked “Remember me next time”. The cookie only stores your unique account ID.

A tracking “consumerswanted cookie”, which you can opt out of. We work with Millward Brown Brand Dynamics to display Retargeted ads to our site prospects, on our behalf, across the Internet. They collect Non-Personally-Identifiable Information about your visits to our Website, and your interaction with our products and services. The anonymous information is collected through the use of a pixel tag, which is industry standard technology used by most major web sites. If you do not want Millward Brown Brand Dynamics to collect this information, you may opt out of their service. Opting out will not in any way affect your use of our site. 

Should you wish to opt out of the tracking “consumerswanted cookie” from consumerswanted once you have registered as a panel member, you may do so by logging in and setting your preferences in the profile forms. 

This technology may also enable us to send you ‘smarter’ surveys, because there will be less need to ask questions about things like online advertising.

This policy details how National Field Services uses cookies or similar technologies in our surveys and on our panel websites. 

 

Definitions and Terms used in this policy

“Cookie An electronic file placed on a Device which stores information specific to that Device. On Device’s that don’t accept Cookie’s, the Device specific information will be stored in the browser cache.

“Consumerswanted Cookie A tracking Cookie which has been designed for use by National Field Services and which will be placed on a panelists’ computer/device at login to identify them to consumerswanted as a panelist and Millward Brown Brand Dynamics.

“Device” A computer, smartphone, or other mobile device.

“Opt-out Cookie” A Cookie which has been designed for use by National Field Services and which will be placed on a panelists’ computer/device to identify them to consumerswanted and Millward Brown Brand Dynamics as a Respondent whose advertising exposure data cannot be matched to their panel ID.

“Tag” means an electronic tag in on-line advertisements placed on certain sites and/or properties by National Field Services.

 

Cookies

Placement of Cookies 

National Field Services will place a cookie, consumerswanted Cookie or Opt-out Cookie to all Respondents who login to consumerswanted and/or their online surveys.

The consumerswanted Cookie may be read by a 3rd party research partner to identify a device as a National Field Services Panellist’s device. All information contained in the consumerswanted Cookie is completely anonymous. This anonymous information does not include your name, address, email address, or other personally identifiable information.

The consumerswanted Cookie shall not be used on any computer/device other than those owned or used by a panel respondent.  National Field Services will not enable 3rd party matching for a panel respondent who has elected to opt-out of the program.

 

Prohibition on Use of Tags

National Field Services shall not use the Tags:

  • to personally identify any individual Respondent;

 

Restrictions on Use of consumerswanted Cookie Data

(a) National Field Services will ensure that a respondent’s visits to their tagged registration, participation, and survey pages will not increase the likelihood that such Respondent will receive any particular targeted advertising.

(b) National Field Services may wish to (a) invite Respondents to participate in additional research based on their exposure to specific online advertising or assets; or (b) match Respondent records to existing Respondent demographic data which has already been collected by National Field Services. 

 

Can I refuse cookies or opt-out later?

Most browsers are initially set up to accept cookies. However, you can configure your browser to alert you when a web site is attempting to send you a cookie and at that time you will have the option of refusing the cookie.

Different browsers use different ways to disable cookies, but they are usually found under a Tools or Options menu. You can also consult the browser’s help menu.

If you decide that you no longer wish to receive consumerswanted cookies on your PC or device, you can opt out at any time and still remain part of the panel.
